In 2007, owner Ed Bixby acquired Steelmantown Cemetery, a historic, rural burial ground in southern New Jersey. After decades of neglect, Ed acquired the property in a state of crisis. Ed spent months collecting garbage, creating eco-trails, and rebuilding Steelmantown Chapel. In doing so, Ed transformed the property into a green burial preserve, breathing new life into the once defunct cemetery. Since then, Ed and his wife Helena have been revitalizing historic burial grounds across the country as Destination Destiny Memorials. To date, Ed and Helena own nine green burial grounds across six states: Arizona, California, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. 

Serving thousands of families, Ed and Helena understand the ins and outs of green burial. In working with families, the two saw the need for a service that streamlines the green burial process for consumers and providers. In 2023, Ed and Helena set upon creating Eternally Green Funeral Solutions, the solution for eco-friendly funeral products and all green-burial related arrangements. Over the span of a year, the two designed a series of carriers and caskets that are environment and budget friendly.
