 In 2007, Ed Bixby acquired Steelmantown Cemetery, a historic rural burial ground in southern New Jersey that had fallen into decades of neglect. He dedicated months to restoring the property—removing debris, creating nature trails, and rebuilding the historic Steelmantown Chapel. Through this restoration, Ed transformed the cemetery into a thriving green burial preserve while preserving its history and natural beauty.

Inspired by the success of Steelmantown Cemetery, Ed and his wife, Helena, began revitalizing historic burial grounds across the United States under Destination Destiny Memorials. Today, they own and operate fifteen green burial cemeteries spanning six states: Arizona, California, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. Together, they have helped thousands of families choose environmentally responsible end-of-life options while preserving historic cemeteries for future generations.

Their decades of experience working directly with families and funeral professionals revealed a need for simpler access to trusted green burial products and services. In 2023, Ed and Helena founded Eternally Green Funeral Solutions to streamline the green burial process by providing eco-friendly funeral products and comprehensive support for both families and providers.
